Today the San Diego Sketchcrawlers met at the
Queen Califia's Magical Circle Garden in Kit Carson Park in Escondido. It is really beautiful there, with amazing statues by artist Kiki De St. Phalle decorated with mosaics, stones, glass and shells. One of our members
made a video of the group. If you ever have an opportunity to go, you should! It truly is magical! I drew one of the "totem" sculptures; you can see it in the video. I'm not sure I like working on toned paper, but I'm giving it a try.

Here are some detail pictures showing some of the variety of materials used for the statues.
The garden is undergoing some restoration and currently is only open the second Saturday of each month. Our group arranged for a special time to see the garden and have a docent tour.
