ATC #226 - Juicy

We are so lucky to be getting some delicious fruits from places with growing seasons different from our local seasons. Pears and blackberries have been my favorites in the last few months.

ATC #225 - Open the Door

So often we are afraid to go and open the mysterious door to our minds and see what's inside...

ATC #223 - Clan MacGregor

I thought I had lost this ATC. I went on a harbor dinner cruise in November. The bar didn't have my favorite scotch, so I tried their Clan MacGregor. I happened to have my ATCs and sketch pens with me so I took a few minutes to make a quick sketch of the glass of Scotch and soda, then added the color later at home.

ATC #222 - Listen to the Trees

For some reason the picture came out very dark. The trees are from another new Washi tape.

ATC #220 - Beach & King Pelican

I got to go on a real vacation with a friend to a timeshare in Newport Beach near Crystal Cove. It was really lovely and inspired me to make a couple of beach-themed cards. It also gave me the opportunity of using some more of the cool washi tape I recently got.

ATC #219 - Read Books

This one is made from washi tape. I recently got a bunch of washi tape that is really cool - it does not have straight edges. The books along the bottom are one of the tapes. The three blues at the top are also washi tape. I use the tapes mostly for journaling and collage, but I these new ones are really fun!

ATC #217 - Secrets

Another ATC for the swap. I made 2 copies of the photo (from a magazine, I think) and cut out the ladies from one of the copies and popped it up for dimension, which is why they sort of look double.

ATC #215 - Little Shed at the World Beat Center

I haven't been making much art since I got a job in November 2012, and when I did, it hasn't been in ATC format. My contract ended a couple of weeks ago, so I finally had a chance to get to a weekday sketchcrawl meetup today. We were outside the World Beat Center in Balboa Park here in San Diego. The weather was beautiful - perfect for sketching. This little shed was kind of hiding in the trees behind the center, but someone had painted the doors with a cool design, so I thought it would be just right for an ATC.

ATC #214 - Zentangle® #29

This Zentangle was abandoned at Anthony's restaurant in San Diego a couple of weeks ago, but I have not gotten any email about it. Oh well. Maybe they didn't like it.

ATC #213 - Zentangle® #28

I like the way this one turned out, perhaps I will abandon it somewhere.

ATC #212 - Zentangle® #27

I made this ATC with the intention of abandoning it like I did with the previous ATC. However, every time I go somewhere with the intention of abandoning it, when I'm there I forget to leave it behind. Perhaps that means I should keep it and abandon a different ATC. I do think this is one of my better Zentangle® ATCs.

ATC #211 - Zentangle® #26

When I first learned the pattern Mooka, I had a hard time with it and was very frustrated. Then I took a class from Jennifer Van Pelt at The Stamp Addict where she showed us how to do this tangle pattern. Somehow the light went on and now I really enjoy this pattern.
This ATC is my first abandoned artwork as a part of the Art Abandonment revolution. It was abandoned in a restaurant in Santa Ana a couple of weeks ago.

ATC #210 - Zentangle® #25

This one has a "new" tangle invented by my friend Susan. I am hoping either she or I will put it up on Tanglepatterns.com sometime soon!

ATC #209 - Zentangle® #24

I'm not all that happy with the black paper and gel pen, but I have a lot of blank black ATC cards, so I have to use them up of course. :-)
